On this week’s Wednesday edition of the Global News Tech Talk, Mike gets smart with wearable tech and products that help you find them (when they get lost). Sonia Sunger and he go over the latest Samsung smartwatch running their Tizen OS. Then, we ponder a world through Alexa coloured glasses with Focals by North smart glasses. Finally, we bring in a family of gadget finders, so you can keep track of these gadgets, from Tile.
Here’s a rundown of all the product featured on this week’s show.
The latest Samsung Galaxy Active Watch 2 is their latest smartwatch running their Tizen OS. The smart wearable was released with the Samsung Note 10 in New York this year and will feature enhanced health monitoring features. A new smart bezel and enhanced performance are also part of this sporty package that retails for $369 CAD. An LTE version will also be available in the future.
Focals by North are a Canadian take on smart glasses, created by grants from the Intel Development and Amazon Alexa Echo funds. The wearable has improved style and functionality over previous smart glass offerings and includes an in glass display as well as Amazon Alexa onboard. Use Alexa to answer all your questions, and bring your data into view on the display. We cover all these features in a recent article on the experience, from fitting to daily use. Pricing starts at $799 CAD and $999 CAD respectively and requires a custom fit from a specialist.
And finally, for all of us that lose our wearables and gadgets, we have the new Tile Bluetooth Trackers. Improvements in the updated versions include extended range and new form factors. Pricing starts at $29 CAD. You can check out additional coverage and thoughts in our launch article with video.
