Canada’s Must Have Black Friday Deals

On Today’s Global News Tech Talk the wallets become lighter yet again as Canada’s biggest weekend of shopping is happening this Friday. Mike and Sonia discuss all of the great Black Friday deals in Canada. We feature products from Google, Amazon and Roku, plus some surprising offers this year from Apple, who traditionally stay out of the discount wars.

Here’s a rundown of all the products featured on Global News Tech Talk for Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Most products will be available on Friday, November 29th, 2019, but please check the links for specific details and availability.

Google has one of the strongest showings for Black Friday this year with discounts in nearly every category. Right off the bat, the Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL, which are the company’s recently launched flagship phones, will see a discount of $250 off. The Google Pixel 4 is now $749 CAD, while the larger Pixel 4 XL will now go for $879 CAD, both with the discount applied. Google has struggled to find traction with its latest mobile devices, but these steep discounts should help stimulate adoption.

Google is also discounting its smart devices for this Black Friday. The Google Nest Hub Max sees a discount of $50 off, bringing the price down to $249 CAD, while the smaller Google Nest Hub will be available for $89 CAD from a regular price of $169 CAD. And finally, the Google Nest Mini will receive a discount of $30, bringing the price down to $39 CAD.

Not to be left out, Amazon is putting its Amazon Echo Show 5 on for $64.99 CAD, which is regularly $99.99. Expect Amazon to also be heavily discounting a number of their other branded devices like Echo Smart Speakers, Fire TV devices and Fire Tablets.

Other great offers for Black Friday include the Roku Streaming Stick+ which sees a discount of $10 off, bringing it to $59.99 CAD and is available from most retailers including Amazon. Plus, if you’re a new subscriber to CBS All Access, you’ll receive 3 months free with Roku. Love music? The Beats Solo 3 Wireless On-Ear headphones will see a significant discount of $180 off, bringing them to $149 CAD at Staples. And if you’re looking for smart light bulbs, the Sengled WiFi Smart Bulbs in White are on for $11.99 CAD this Friday at Staples or on Amazon.

Last but certainly not least, Apple is joining in on the Black Friday fun this year with a discount on the Apple iPad. The latest 7th generation iPad with 32GBs will see a discount to $369 CAD from a regular price of $429 CAD. It’s also compatible with the new Apple Pencil and smart keyboard, making it compelling for productivity, creativity, or entertainment.

All of the above offers will go into effect on Friday, November 29th only, with some exceptions that may begin earlier. See store for details.
