On this week’s GetConnected Video Podcast, we’re speaking to Canadian Digital Nomad, Duane Storey, who is stuck in Spain during their lockdown. But this hasn’t stopped him from pursuing his passion for tube amplifiers. He’s going to tell us about how he’s managing to source everything to build one from scratch. Plus, we’re opening up the mailbag this week and answering your questions—all this and more on the May 2, 2020 edition of the GetConnected Video Podcast.
Duane Storey is a Canadian digital nomad that is hunkering down in Spain. Despite an aggressive lockdown to help the population recover, he’s managed to stay busy by pursuing one of his passions, which is building tube amplifiers. The project leads him on a journey to design, source and build his very own, completely customized, and all from scratch. In case you don’t know what a tube amplifier is, they are a type of amplifier, in this case, an audio amplifier that uses vacuum tubes instead of solid-state components to amplify a signal. The result is a very warm organic sound that can be customized with different types of tubes, to give different sound characteristics. If you’re into audio, this is a story you have to hear.
