On this week’s Wednesday Global News Tech Talk, Mike shows Sonia some great gadgets to save space and increase productivity in your office space. From the latest space-saving monitors from Samsung to printers that save you money on ink and supplies from Epson.
Here’s a rundown of all the products featured on Global News Tech Talk for Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
The Samsung Space Monitors employ an innovative method of saving space on your desk. The key is the space-saving integrated arm that clamps to your desk and can save you up to 40% more deskspace over comparable stand-mounted monitors. Specially designed channels and power brick allow you to easily hide power and monitor cables. Thin bezels further save space and give you a more seamless view of your digital workspace. The Samsung Space Monitor is available in two sizes. The 27-inch model features a 2560×1440 resolution, plus a high refresh rate of 144hz, and retails for around $449 CAD. If you are looking for more digital real-estate, a 32-inch model is also available with a 60hz refresh and a full 4K resolution display for around $599 CAD.
For those terrified of printing things in colour, because of high costs, the Epson Ecotank ET-2760 All-in-One Supertank Printer hopes to alleviate those fears. The Epson Ecotank technology allows you to easily refill your printer by yourself. Each printer refill is keyed for each colour, so you won’t mix things up by accident. Because the ET-2760 is a multi-function printer, it not only saves you money on cartridges, but it also saves you desk space. Each one comes with a supply of Supertank refills which can last for up to 2 years. It retails for around $299 CAD.
For those that take a lot of conference calls on a smartphone, the Beyerdynamic PHONUM Wireless Bluetooth Speakerphone will dramatically improve sound quality. The PHONUM employs a microphone array that actively targets voices directionally. As a result, you get clear vocals that will eliminate the need to ask people to repeat themselves. The down-firing speakers bounce sound around the room, allowing your guests to be heard loud and clear as well. The PHONUM also works with computers via Bluetooth or a USB connection and is compatible with many video conferencing apps as well. The Beyerdynamic PHONUM is compact, portable, powered by an internal battery, and retails for $399 CAD.
