Once a costly technology found in professional and business settings, Ultra Short Throw or UST projectors have become much more accessible in recent years. Because you can park it right up to a wall, USTs have found their way into many homes, providing that theatre experience with a minimal amount of space. The VAVA 4K Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector is a product that really shows off the strengths of this technology.
With a cost of $2799 US (around $3700 CAD), the VAVA 4K Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector combines a feature set that makes it easily deployable at home. The footprint is no bigger than a 50 – 60 inch TV on a stand, and you don’t have to drill holes in your wall. You also get a picture of up to 150 inches with a minimum throw distance of only 7.2 inches. Want to save space? A competent 60 Watt soundbar is built into the unit, supporting the latest home theatre audio standards, with audio tuned by Harmon Kardon.
The VAVA 4K Laser UST projector comes with a remote and has Android built-in, allowing you to operate it like any current generation smart TV. We did come across some quirks, but thanks to the built-in WiFi (or wired if you prefer), the projector can receive over the air updates, bug fixes, and even new features. For any favourite streaming channels that are missing, just plug in your favourite streaming sticks via one of the available HDMI ports, and you’re set for a night at the movies.
