In 2022, GetConnected Media and TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® (the Foundation) offered Canadians an incredible giveaway. One that gave you a chance to win something while making a difference in your community.

Thanks to supporters like you, the Foundation, in collaboration with TELUS Canadian Community Boards, made a difference in the lives of over 2 million youth in communities across Canada in 2022. Five hundred forty-eight grants were issued to Canadian registered charities, totalling $10.6 million in funding. 100% of all donations from community members went towards tackling the most pressing issues facing our youth, thanks to their founding partner TELUS who covers 100% of the Foundation’s administrative costs.

In 2023, we are doing it all over again! But first, we want you to meet a young person you helped, thanks to your support.

Meet Olivia!

Olivia was born with Rett syndrome. It’s a rare neurological and developmental disorder that causes children to lose their ability to speak and move. It’s often difficult to diagnose; unfortunately, no known cure exists. Let’s find out more about her in the video below.

Thanks to funding from the Foundation, technology like Olivia’s Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) changed her life by maximizing her independence. The momentum we built together last year has continued to raise awareness of what the Foundation does so it can help more youth like Olivia.

What Are We Giving Away?

To help the Foundation continue tackling the most pressing issues facing youth today, they’ve graciously donated two prizes. One that will help you stay connected to your community and one that will help you give back to a cause you’re passionate about.

If we had that extra dollar, many of us would give it to a worthy cause. So, that’s why the other part of the prize is an opportunity to giveaway a $500 donation to a Canadian registered charity of your choice.

The combination of both prizes is valued at $1435.

How Do I Get Bonus Entries?

Listen to the GetConnected radio show or podcast. We will reveal new ways to pick up bonus entries every week. The GetConnected Show (10 AM PT on Saturday) and The APP show (10 AM PT on Sunday) broadcast LIVE on CKNW 980 radio in Vancouver and across Canada on the Corus Radio Network.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. One entry is accepted per person. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
2. The giveaway is open to Canadian residents only. Entrants must be the age of majority. The prize must be awarded to the winner within Canada. This giveaway excludes Quebec as per the rules in that province.
3. The winner must correctly answer a skill-testing question to claim the prize as per Canadian law.
4. The winner will be contacted by a confirmed email address only. Unconfirmed email addresses do not qualify. If the winner cannot be contacted by email for any reason, a new winner will be drawn within 24 hrs.
5. All decisions related to the drawing and awarding of the prize are final.
6. The contest closes on February 26, 2023, at Midnight PT.
7. The random drawing will be executed by March 2023.
