With the pandemic potentially creating some challenges for trick or treating this Halloween, Nintendo has a spooky update coming to Animal Crossing that might be the safest way to celebrate the season. It also gives those that might have gotten bored with Animal Crossing a reason to update and get back into the game which grew wildly popular during the pandemic.
The Fall Update will bring a number of new features to the game including growing pumpkins, new DIY recipes (for the newly grown pumpkins), costumes and character customization options and a special event on October 31st.
The video also shares some new updates to the Nooklink smartphone app as well as a late November update, presumably with US Thanksgiving and other holiday themed goodies based on the characters shown, albeit briefly.
The Fall Update will be a free update available on September 30th. No word on if Pumpkin Spice will be making an appearance.
