This week, Canada’ Covid-19 Contact Tracing app was updated to allow for more provinces and territories. These include Newfoundland and Labrador as of September 3rd with Saskatchewan launching in a few weeks.
Since launching the app earlier this summer, there have been over 2.2 million downloads of the app. During the initial launch period, it only fully functioned in Ontario and registered 90 infections over a one month period of time.
With more provinces on board, the number of installs should go up and it is expected the registered infections will as well.
The COVID Alert app is available for iOS and Android.
As mentioned previously, it’s safe to use and doesn’t use GPS or store/transmit any location or personally identifiable information.
