Zoom recently announced that it would example its reach. Google Nest Hub Max, Facebook Portal, and Amazon Echo Show will soon be able to support it. This is a big deal not only for Zoom but also for the others mentioned here.
In 2020, Zoom has become our go-to for a lot of interaction. It’s a tool not only for work but for socializing during the pandemic. With an easy to use interface, it connects us in a time when we can’t interact in person. Thanks to the conferencing app, a computer or tablet and an online connection are all you need to stay in touch.
Until now, Google, Amazon, and Facebook thave used their own video chat software. Facebook has video calls in Messenger and Google has Meet. Although Zoom will work a bit differently in each of them, all will work together. Facebook will add a specific workplace focused account while Google will use its built-in calendar to bring in all your Zoom meetings. Moreover, voice commands will be enabled by using “Hey Google”. Alexa’s experience will be similar to Google from a calendar perspective and Echo Show devices will start meetings automatically.
Over the past few months, we’ve watched Zoom become very robust. The addition of the Mhmm plugin helped with this bringing versatility to presentations and a news style display. Recent updates have helped with non-work focused get-togethers thanks to new filters. While adding the versatility of product integrations has made the conferencing app a powerhouse, large in-person meetings are still have a long way to go. The virtual meeting will continue to be a part of our work and personal lives for the foreseeable future. Zoom is doing an amazing job bringing us together in new ways on multiple devices.
