Telus has partnered with Smith Micro Software to launch Track+. This system will exist seamlessly into the Telus ecosystem to keep track of the things you don’t want to lose. LTE will provide a borderless way to track your belongings.
We have all gone out and left a bag somewhere. Whether it is a purse or backpack, it is never fun to think about the belongings that were left. Replacing these items can be costly and stressful. Telus has a solution and it’s called Track+. Developed by Smith Micro Software, Track+ is added to your Telus plan and will keep track of your stuff. The cost of each unit is $120 or if you have a Telus plan it can be added for $5 per month and zero interest.
it is possible to acquire these if you are not with Telus however you will still need a Telus to add on the plan. Using LTE coverage allows you to track your things through Canada and the USA with no roaming fees. A digital border can be placed on each tracker so that it will sound off an alarm if the area is breached. Looking back, this would have been great when loaning my friends my car as they always seem to bring it back with 200km extra lol. The Track+ pieces are tracked through an app. Besides invisible borders, you can also sound alerts. We have all been looking for something and it was right in front of us. Simply activate the alert and a sound will go off to help you find that missing piece.
As long as there is no concern going through airports this is a great idea. Being able to track your luggage when traveling would bring such peace of mind. Having one of these attached to a purse or even your four-legged family member is a great use for these. It is nice to see that if used for the correct reason, these devices could save someone a lot of hassle and money should something go missing.
