Is money no object? What kind of high-end gifts does Graham have on his holiday wish list? Well, wonder no more:
A new console generation has launched and for me there’s only one place to be: PlayStation! I tend to rock all platforms all the time, but the PlayStation reclaimed the thrown with the PS4 and some customer-friendly moves over the last six years. Despite Microsoft’s alluring GamePass concept, Sony still has the best single-player experiences, and with performance leaning ever so slightly in their direction, the PS5 is an easy first purchase. I picked up the version with the physical disc drive–not for games, but because I wanted a premium 4K Blu-ray player. Mission accomplished!
The Nespresso Vertuo concept is pushing four years old, and while my original Vertuoline has seen daily use, it’s starting to show its age. The new Deluxe model is quieter, heats faster, and has support for all 5 types of Veruto pods available… with a six pod type that has yet to be released. The fully-recyclable pods and commitment to fair trade coffee almost remove the guilt of buying from a company owned by Nestlé. My compromise? Fight for water rights and against their evil parent company over my morning coffee.
When my Panasonic Plasma died I thought I had seen the end of truly beautiful black levels in my home theatre. LG, long believers in OLED technology, proved me wrong. I’ve been struggling with a 70” VIzio M70-C3 from 2015 (first world problems, for sure) with no HDR and spotty software support. That’s going to end with the gorgeous new 77” LG OLED. Big, rich colours, thin bezels, and black levels that make the dead of night look grey.
An adult outdoor onesie? Tuxy started off with a couch-friendly all-in-one romper for adults and realized that they’re unique design was perfect for outdoors activity. The Storm Suit’s gorgeous promo video got me right in the BC aspirations, and I’ve rocked it in the worst weather 2020 has had to offer so far. Pair this with Vessi’s waterproof sneakers for an in-town all-Canadian weatherproof walkabout.
“You’ll shoot yer eye out!” –not if you exercise good firearms safety, wear appropriate eye-pro, and use this as in an appropriate place. If you’re looking to feel like a cowboy this Christmas (and I am looking to feel like that EVERY Christmas) this lever-action BB gun is the perfect choice. BONUS: you can watch The Rifleman for free on the Roku channel, so check that out and get to practicing your sharpshooting.
