3 Great Canada Day Apps
Canada celebrates its birthday this July 1st, and to celebrate, there are several fun and interactive apps you can download fitted to help you celebrate whatever activities you get up to on Canada Day.
1. Official Canada Day
The Official Canada Day app by Purple Forge app allows people who are very active in the social media world to interact with their friends on a platforms that revolves around Canada day. The app allows you to participate in an innovative crowd-sourced conversation and share what you feel defines Canada. Answer questions pertaining to sports all the way too favorite donut type and see how you compare to other Canadian!
As well, the app allows you to create your own special Canada Day postcards. Highly customizable themes, stamps, and photos allow you to make each Postcard your own and with the integration of Facebook, Twitter and e-mail you can share them with your friends and family using e-mail. Another great feature of this app is its Event Tab, in which you can see all the different events and festivals happening in your province and read about each one. 2. How Canadian Are You, Eh?
The How Canadian Are you, EH? app lets people, especially history buff, test how much they know about Canada. Take a quiz of 20 random questions that are pulled from a collection of over 120 Canadian themed questions. Once you have answered the questions, you can find out your results and share them with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. If you really want to show off your Canadian history skills, you can even challenge you friend and family and see if they can beat your score. Keep in mind though, these questions are no walk in the park. Be prepared to answer questions like, “Which part of Canada can the easternmost point in North America be found?” and “Canada has what percentage of the world’s forests?”
3. Parks Canada Learn to Camp
The Parks Canada Learn to Camp app is the ideal app for first-time campers who want to plan a trip to Canada’s national parks. It is packed with the information needed to make your first camping trip a success. However, even seasoned camping veterans will find this app to be useful with the camping tips from experienced campers and national park rangers.
The app offers 4 main sections including Camping Basics, Camping Checklist, Recipes and Cooking as well as Where to Camp. Learn about the basics of camping including how to plan your trip then move on to learn how to set up your campsite, how to make a campfire, meal planning, camping with children and more! The app also includes photos and information for all of Canada’s 42 national parks including top experiences, animals you might see, activities you can do and how to get there.
